Acer Palmatum Summer Gold: Acer Summer Gold has been developed to combat the problem of green and yellow leaved Acer plants scorching in full sun locations. Summer Gold is highly resistant to heat and full sun, so a good choice for hot south facing gardens where other Acers may of failed. Leaves are traditional 5 lobed shape, they emerge bright golden almost orange with a touch of pink, summer color is lime green. Autumn is when show really starts leaves turn orange then pink and finally scarlet red. It can grow moderately quickly gaining upto 30cms a year even whilst relatively young.
