Bamboo Fargesia nitida 'Great Wall' has been cultivated from a special selection of seedlings of Fargesia Nitida following its widespread flowering and subsequent demise a few years ago. This new genus is an extremely hardy, erect and quick growing cultivar that is almost identical to the original form. Canes are initially upright, successive years growth make them arch elegantly under the weight of foliage -the foliage itself is mid-green and is generously produced on many side branches. Makes a choice as single either planted in a pot or border or alternatively planted to create a screen or hedge.
