Large Climbing Ivy Plants Hedera Sulphur Heart 2 Metres: Often referred to as Persian Ivy, Hedera Sulphur Heart is a vigorous self variegated climber, heart shaped leaves with more than a splash of creamy yellow centres, its a great looking self clinging climber, although classed as a self clinging variety, we dont think they have the same grip as something like Hydrangea Petiolaris so a trellis or similar is always helpful. Sulphur heart is a great choice for a fast growing plant to cover unsightly areas, or wall and fences etc.. its best grown in full sun through to light shade, it will tolerate full shade but if possible this should be avoided.

What to expect: Your plant will arrive in a 10 litre pot, with a minimum delivered height of two metres including the pot. The pictures were taken in July.

Water well until established in the planting area, although these plants are pretty much self sufficient to keep them looking lush and healthy try adding balanced fertiliser monthly during the growing season, alternatively add a slow release top dress fertiliser such as Osmocote

Does this plant need any particular type of soil for planting?

Hedera Sulphur Heart does tend to do better in Alkaline soil, but it will adapt to most types, waterlogged areas should be avoided though.

Can i plant in full shade?

It is a very adaptable plant, but full complete shade should be avoided.

How large will it grow?

Its not an exact science as these plants will just grow and grow, but realistically they will get to 5 metres and beyond if left untrimmed

When can i prune it?

Climbing Ivy can be pruned whenever required.
