What to expect: All plants are winter hardy and will depending on variety have a height excluding pot of 15-30cm. They will arrive planted in a square 2 litre pot and will look just like the picture, taken in our own nursery Mid-April 2015
Luzula Nivea This snowy woodrush has greyish - green, evergreen leaves. This 40-60cm tall species originates from Southern Europe flowers are snow white loose clusters between June and August. It does well in sun through to light shade great when planted amongst other shrubs.
Luzula Sylvatica A tall woodrush native to the woods of Europe and Asia. This grass like perennial has long up to 2cm wide shiny leaves flowers with white blooms late April through to June. Good for ground cover for light through to deep shade.
Helictotrichon Sempervirens A magnificent very hardy shrub grass that originates from Siberia, narrow elegantly nodding blue-grey leaves ( Blue in full sun) above which tower golden yellow oat like flowers during summer. Tolerates drought well and keeps it colour very well even during harsh winters. Great in groups or as a solitary specimen.
Carex 'Prairie Fire' this so called orange sedge from the colour grass series has decorative, delicate leaves that colour a gorgeous orange-red in the autumn. In a sunny spot the colour comes out best, also in the winter. The plant flowers in summer with reddish brown heads. Suited for somewhat moist to very dry, well-drained soil.
Carex 'Frosted Curls' This colourful sedge is a tuff forming evergreen grass with arching narrow pale silvery green leaves curling at the tips. The small inconspicuous flowers are produced in summer over its foliage. Its colour and elegant form make it particularly good in winter containers where it looks good planted with spring bulbs and ivy it is also useful for providing interest in the herbaceous border when other plants have died back. Like most perennial grasses it will benefit from a tidy up in the spring to remove any dead foliage and encourage growth.
Carex 'Bronze Form' This interesting sedge forms dense tussocks of narrow, bronze-brown leaves, a versatile grass that is happy in most situations in sun or shade. Its colour and form make it particularly useful for winter containers.
Carex 'Bunny Blue' Bunny Blue is a striking different variety of this normally deep green sedge - species from eastern North America. This evergreen forest - grass has shiny, wide, silvery blue leaves, forms a dense, rounded, ground covering clump and thrives in moist, rich soil in a shaded position also good for container planting.
Carex 'Evergold' The creamy white striped, evergreen leaves have a great affect in shadowy places . Inconspicuous flowering spikes on triangular stems during summer. For well drained soils
Carex 'Everest' The variety Everest of the species as also offered as 'Finhite' It was found in Ireland in 2006 as a white edged sport of the Japanes Carex 'Oshimensis 'Evergold' A lovely plant. For light or deep shaded areas in well-drained soil.
Juncus 'Spiralis' the yellow-green virtually leafless stems of this corkscrew grass are strikingly twisted in spirals. The just as tangled, yellow - green budding heads that appear in summer are less noticeable. Ideal for a waterside location in moist ground Upto 10 cms deep.
Koeleria Glauca Blue hair grass is not invasive Koeleria Species from Eastern Europe with narrow, gray-green to blue-green leaves. It forms a nice mount. The stalks are swollen bulb like at the basis by remains of older leaves. Beautiful in a grass themed garden together with bulbs. No flowers. For well drained, dry soil and sun.
Festuca 'Elijah Blue' This blue fescue is considered as the utmost blue variety of this species. The fine upright, bending leaves are needle shaped. This tufted plant forms a mounded clump and is evergreen. It has 10-30 cm high flowers in May-June with white yellowish spikelets. For full sun but can take some shade and moderately fertile, very well drained soil.
Sesleria Nitida This evergreen ornamental grass is endemic in the South Italian and Sicilian Nature. The plant catches the eye by its fine, greyish green-blue leaves. It forms big mounded clumps from which cone shaped flower spikes stick up on still stems in spring. Extra attractive when they are moved by the wind. For a preferably sunny spot in rather poor slightly limy, rather dry soil.
