Agapanthus Africanus Dr Brouwer Established Plants 5 Litre: This is the big one! Leaves can reach 2 to 3 ft. but flowers can reach upto 6ft. Beautiful trumpet shaped dark blue flowers emerge emerge from the mid green foliage July through September and provide a dazzling summer display, straight  sturdy stems hold the large flowers upright, these truly beautiful perennials provide a super display through to late summer, plant in full sun in a well drained border or of course in a large pot on the patio. A relatively easy plant to maintain Agapanthus will respond well to some tlc, try adding a liquid fertiliser should be applied during the growing season from spring through to September, ideally do not feed after September. These plants are hardy but are delicate so some winter care should be afforded, if pot planted place pots in a frost free place and if ground planted protect the grown with a deep dry mulch. Plant can be split in spring but keep in mind plants produce more flowers when the roots are constricted

Pictures taken May, if purchased out of season you will receive what appears to be a relatively small plant.

if pot planting try John Innes Nr 2. Being pot planted encourages  Agapanthus to flower. They'll need potting on or dividing after a few years but this terribly easy, after splitting plant in a pot the same size as the one they have been removed from. Tomorite or tomato food is designed to encourage tomatoes to flower. Try it, it works wonderfully with Agapanthus also!

These are a South African perenial plant, which leaves die down in the winter.
