Giant Red Hippeastrum 'Amaryllis' Bulb extra large size 50/52
The Amaryllis is an incredibly popular indoor bulb that will produce a large tropical flower. Amaryllis originated in South America with the botanical name Hippeastrum and is now very popular throughout the world. From planting the bulb, the larger bulb the larger the flower, it takes approximately 6 to 8 weeks to grow.
Your will received a large bulb 50/52cm in circumference. Planting period: October through to February Flowering period: December through to June The base of the root should be planted in multipurpose compost in a pot slightly bigger than the bulb itself. Two thirds of the bulb should remain above the surface. Water sparingly until the leaves start to grow then make sure the compost does not dry out. From September reduce the watering then in November/December cut the plant down to approximately 10cm from the neck of the bulb and grow again as a new bulb.
