Carpinus Betulus Trees In Two Size Option 2.5/3.5m: Known and often referred to as  common hornbeam, with its grey/green smooth bark and fluted trunk is a wonderful, stately, rounded native tree. Glossy mid-green foliage deeply ribbed and turning yellow in the autumn. Green catkins appear from late spring followed by clusters of winged fruit. Carpinus Betulus is a very useful tree, it makes a good hedge and when clipped correctly will hold its brown leaves for a considerably longer than lots of other deciduous trees. Its a great choice for screening or pleaching. Pictures taken April still plenty of new foliage to come through.
