Established Super Hardy Lavender - 'Lavender Phenomenal' 3.6 Litre: Occasionally new plants can come to the market that despite the fanfare and great sounding name, they can unfortunately fail to live upto the hype, that is certainly not the case with Lavender Phenomenal. Originally bred in Pennsylvania, where winter temperatures can be pretty harsh the aim was to create a winter hardy lavender that suffers little winter die back, disease and pest resistant, fragrant and a good flowering period, almost the perfect lavender, and in fairness they've cracked it!  Winter hardy down to minus 15, keeping a great shape and good colour even during harsh winters, flowering slightly later than English Lavender, it forms a bushy mound upto approximately 60cm at maturity with a similar spread of silver foliage. Purple-blue scented flowers are perched on long spikes, in good summers repeat flowering late in the year is an almost certainty. Phenomenal like most Lavender does not like waterlogged or constantly wet soil, however unlike other Lavender they will cope well with partial shade. A great attraction for Butterflies, and flowers that are excellent for drying. An almost perfect Lavender.

What to expect: Your Phenomenal will arrive as a well established plant in a 3.6 litre/19cm pot, height excluding the pot will be approximately 20/30cm, the first two pictures were taken Mid August flowers have been removed but plants still look great and the scent is fantaastic, the 3rd picture was taken in January, 4th and 5th pictures July.
