Miscanthus Sinensis Red Chief. 5 Litre: Red Chief a clump forming deciduous grass reaching heights in summer to approximately 1.5 metres. Narrow arching green foliage fading to yellow in autumn and brown in winter. Feathery flower panicles open deep red late summer through autumn, these fade to silver during winter.
What to expect: Red Chief is a perennial grass that should be cut to 5/10cm from the ground in late winter preferably before the growing season commences, please keep this in mind if purchased February to late April you will receive what appears to be a small plant. 1st picture is summer 2021 stock, taken late July plant is 80/100cm, 2nd picture is indicative of a maure plant during flowering period.
