1/2 Standard Portuguese Laurel Prunus Lusitanica 18 Litre 70cm+/- Stem: A beautiful young half Standard Portuguese Laurel. Prunus Lusitanica is a smaller leaved variety of Laurel, they make a super alternative to the more traditional topiary standards such as Bay Trees and Buxus and Ilex, leaves are a glossy dark green and keep colour throughout even the harshest winters. During the earlier summer months, May to July, depending on climate, fragrant white flowers appear, these are followed by red fruits which ripen to black. These are relatively quick growing trees, the standard stem will not grow taller but will get thicker, teh head heads is currently around 60cm. Laurel even in standard form is extremely hardy it does best planted in full sun, and requires no winter protection, they will happily sit in pots or the ground all winter.
Prunus Lusitanica requires very little maintenance it will grow in all soil types and is tolerant of drought, if you forget to give potted plants a water, it shouldn't be a cause for concern, they will soon bounce back.
