Gold Medal Winning Hydrangea Rende-Vous "French Can Can" 5 Litre: This beautiful Hortensia is a very special plant. It was awarded Gold medal at the 2015 HTA Awards, achieving the highest point’s score of all six gold medal winners in the shrubs and climbers category. The large lacecap flowers are very special because of the beautiful pink and white colouring, the size of the heads, and the amount of heads produced.
What to expect: Your "Rende-Vous" will arrive planted in a large 5 Litre Pot/23cm pot. It will depending on the time of the year purchased have an actual plant size of approximately 60cm with 6 - 7 flower heads. The picture which was taken on our own nursery in June 2016.
Planting position: Best planted in a lightly shaded warm spot, never close to a tree. Tree roots are the dominant force and will deprive your hydrangea of the nutrition it needs
Suitable for container planting: Yes a great choice Soil: Happy in all soil types excluding heavy clay
Eventual Height and spread: 100cm x 100cm at maturity
Flowering Period: June through to late September
Winter Hardy: Yes for the whole UK. Severe frosts will not be fatal it may damage the buds this will almost certainly result in smaller flowers, whilst this isnt relevant to plants that are going to live in the south it may be advisable to wrap in a winter fleece in the colder parts of the Uk.
Evergreen: No Deciduous
Pruning: Not necessary apart from removing old flower heads
Hydrangea plants do not like having dry roots. The plant needs watering regularly, both in a pot and in the soil during warm periods. You should thereby try as much as possible to keep the flowers dry. If pot planted we would recommend you stand your pot on water dish and water from the base. Do not allow to dry out.
