Imperata Cylindrica Red Baron - Large plants. 5 Litre pot

Imperata Cylindrica Red Baron Large 5 Litre: Cylindrica Red Baron also known as Japanese Blood Grass. A  deciduous clump forming ornamental grass that produces blood-red spikes with a bright green base, the colours of the spikes intensify as the seasons progress  It gives a wonderful blood deep red dsiplay in the Autumn months. Cylindrica is suited for a wide range of soils and areas in the garden also an ideal choice for pots or rock gardens it is easily maintained and once mature (which our plants are) in late summer through Autumn the specatcular red foliage shines like a beacon before it dies back. 

For best results cut the plant back to ground level in late February when hopefully the worse f the weather has passed, whilst it is a hardy plant it may need some protection in colder areas of the country where temperatures drop below -5  this is best done by protecting the roots by mulching with straw or well rotted manure, if pot planted always provide a good water source.

What to expect: Your plant will arrive planted in a large 5 litre pot, it will have a height excluding the pot of approximately 40/60cm. Depending on the time of year purchased it will look just like the pictures which were taken July.
