Leucothoe Axillairs 'Curly Red' 5 Litre: Leucothoe 'Curly Red' is a cultivar of Leucothoe, a genus of evergreen shrubs native to North America and Asia. 'Curly Red' is known for its unique and attractive foliage, making it a popular choice for gardens and landscapes.

The most distinctive feature of Leucothoe 'Curly Red' is its curly, twisted leaves, which emerge as red in spring and gradually transition to green as they mature. This colour contrast adds visual interest and can create a striking display in gardens. In addition, during the fall season, the leaves may take on shades of purple or bronze, adding further beauty to the shrub.

This cultivar typically grows to a height of around 60cm and has a spreading, mounding habit. It thrives in partial shade to full shade and prefers moist, acidic soil that is well-draining. Leucothoe 'Curly Red' is also considered to be relatively low-maintenance, requiring minimal pruning or special care.

In terms of landscaping uses, Leucothoe 'Curly Red' can be planted as a border or as an accent shrub in shady areas of the garden.
