Winter hazel 'Corylopsis Pauciflora' makes a great specimen plant for a sunny or partially shaded shrub border or area, also suited to pot planting, they will tolerate shade but do better in the positions already mentioned. Flowers are heavily scented so to appreciate in full we recommend planting in a sheltered spot close to a path or entrance.

Whilst our Corylopsis are an adaptable plant we recommend planting in moist well drained preferably acid soil or if pot planting ericaceous compost. Winter Hazel is an easily maintained plant for best results remove any misplaced or crossing branches and shoots in spring, immediately after the plant has flowered. After pruning apply a generous mulch ( 5-7cm) of composted pine needles or well-rotted leaf mould around the base of the plant.
Height and spread at maturity approximately 1.5 metres high with a spread of around 2.5 metres.
