Quercus Texana or Nuttall Oak ‘New Madrid’ 4 Litre : New Madrid is a relatively new uk introduction. It was first discovered growing in New Madrid Missouri USA. Hence the name “Quercus New Madrid”. What makes this variety so unique is the new spring growth, leaves emerge dark burgundy through to dark red then change to deep glossy green this can create a lovely three coloured effect on each branch. The leaves stay green all summer. Autumn colour is traditional Oak Tree, red and orange. Like most oak trees it is extremely low maintenance.
What to expect: Your tree will arrive with an actual plant size of 100-125cm, excluding the pot. Height inclusive of pot approximately 140cm. It will be planted in a 4 litre litre/20cm pot. Oak trees are deciduous so depending on time of year purchased your plant may not arrive looking like the photo which was taken Mid October 2015
Planting Position: Suitable for a wide range of areas of the garden, in full sun through to light dappled shade, however for best spring colours we recommend planting in a bright sunny warm spot.

Quercus New Madrid prefer a good sunny spot away from exposed windy sites, especially when young, bear this in mind when planting. Create a hole at least twice as big as the rootball add well-rotted manure or organic fertiliser to help fertilise the planting area, stake if necessary.
