Large Eucalyptus Tree Eucalyptus Gunnii 130/150cm 7.5 litre: Eucalyptus Gunni also known as the cider gum tree. Originating from Tasmania, Gunni is now a popular choice for a quick growing winter hardy (to minus 15) evergreen tree here in the UK. Eucalyptus Gunni is best grown in full sun, preferably in acid or neutral soil. Gunni can grow to a large columnar tree reaching heights in excess of 12 metres with a spread of 5 metres plus, foliage is scented and a bright silvery grey with age the bark which is a creamy brown can peel, this is of course perfectly normal and adds to the overall effect.

What to expect: Your tree will arrive planted in a 7.5 litre pot and be well established, height excluding pot is a 130/150cm, ( The plants fall into the 120/140cm bracket but they are minimum 130cm) regardless of the time of year purchased it will look similar to the picture.

Eucalyptus are an extremely low maintenance tree that require little or no pruning, pruning really needs only be undertaken to restrict height and spread or to remove any winter damaged foliage, apart from this the tree should ideally be left to its own devices. Ideal planting situation is in full sun in slightly acidic soil, if you are a novice gardener and do have any concept of soil type i would not worry to much about this these are extremely robust plants thats will adapt to the environment. Whilst the main page advertises suitable for pot planting, which they are, in our own opinion they will perform better if planted in the border.
