Half Standard Ligustrum Plants Ligustrum Jonandrum 18 Litre 80cm stem large head: Standard Ligustrum are evergreen shrubs with small dark green leaves and compact heads, whilst they can provide many other options in this instance they have been topiary trained into lollipop shaped topiary. Ligustrum trained and used in this way can be a great alternative to to standard Buxus, they are quite similar in looks, they are relatively slow growing and easily maintained, obviously they do not do not suffer from some of the health problems often associated with Buxus, fully hardy and ideal for pots and borders. We are often asked the question what does Half Standard actually mean? , or to be more accurate what the difference between Full standard and Half Standard? This only actually relates to the stem size it does not reflect on the quality of the plant or the the size of the head, in this instance the clear stems are a relatively short 80cm, hence a half standard, bigger trees will fall into to the category 3/4 standards or full. Heads of these plants are large and well established, ccurrently in the region of approximately 45/50cm.
