Black Grass Ophiopogon Niger 2 Litre: A low growing ground covering grass providing a striking contrast to brighter coloured plants. In the exotic, purple - black, grass like clump of leaves that form a so called 'Beard of Snakes' pale pink to light violet, cup shaped flowers appear in late September to early autumn, they have a super fragrance. Once the plant has flowered, blue berries appear. Its a fantastic sight and looks striking in any border. Best planted in warm slightly shaded spot in Humus rich moist, well draining soil. Ophiopogon Niger is relatively hardy but may need winter protection in severe frosts. Ultimate height approximately 25cm with a 30cm spread.
